A music teacher and composer of young students’ piano music, Jane’s journey into photography arose from a desire to pursue complementary artistic avenues alongside her busy teaching practice. Joining both the Dunedin Photographic Society and Dunedin Camera Club, she quickly discovered her passion for abstract photography, gaining her APSNZ in 2009. A keen interest in creating abstract triptychs soon followed.
Imagery which challenges creative boundaries and stimulates the imagination has always been at the forefront of Jane’s photography.Exploring more unconventional methods of interpretation and presentation, she takes ordinary, everyday items found around the home and transforms them into an ‘extraordinary’ “Abstracted Reality”. Jane is both a guest speaker and workshop presenter.
